London, January 17 (NIA): Pakistani actress Mahira Khan opened up about what she loved and feared about her forthcoming Bollywood film Raees in an interview to BBC-Urdu.
When asked if she was dejected about not promoting the film across the border, the actor said; “Of course, I feel bad. When you put so much effort and hard work in a project, you wish to see the results. I work with same dedication and zeal in all my projects, but Raees is very special.”
Talking about how Fawad’s role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was reportedly cut short due to India-Pakistan tension, Mahira said: “I’m not privy to that but I am content with my part in Raees.”
Working with National Award winning director Rahul Dholakia for her maiden Bollywood project Raees was amazing, Mahira tweeted.
“Amazing. Rahul Dholakia helped me every step of the way,” she said.
Set against the backdrop of prohibition in Gujarat, Raees touches upon the way alcohol industry crumbled and several illegal activities followed. Its trailer gives a glimpse of the story backed by heavy duty action sequences, and many thrilling moments.
Mahira revealed that she was on set when Zaalima was released. The actor said everyone there had gotten glued to it and liked what they saw.
In the film, Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan essays the title role of Raees, a bootlegger. The flick, which also stars Nawazzuddin Siddiqui, is slated for a January 25 release.
