Colombo, May 7 (Army Media) – The largest COVID treatment hospital in the country was opened in Seeduwa yesterday by the Army Commander, Gen. Shavendra Silva. The hospital has a capacity of treating 1,200 patients.
The measure has been taken to address the current shortage of beds to treat Covid patients due to the third wave of the coronavirus the Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said.
He said 2500 beds have already been setup, while they intend to set up another 5000 beds in the next 3-4 days.

The emergency medical facility is made up of several isolation wards and it can hold up to 1,200 patients at any given time.
