Due to the petrol and diesel shortage Sri Lankans have taken to the railway in a big way

Colombo, June 15 (Xinuua): Due to fuel shortages and higher prices, coupled with rising bus fares, many Sri Lankans have begun to choose trains as a means of travel.

According to local media reports, there are currently 50% more train passengers than before.

During rush hour, the train carriages are full, and the platform is crowded with a large number of passengers.
