Colombo, August 21 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 381,000 mark as another 3,839 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (20).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 381,812 with 54,212 active cases registered across the island and as many as 320,810 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 195 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Thursday (19).
This is the highest number of COVID-19 deaths reported in a single day.
Reportedly, as many as 151 deaths were reported among the elderly people who were aged above 60 years.
In addition, 43 individuals aged between 30-59 years and 1 male below 30 years have also succumbed to the virus infection.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 6,985 as of now.
