Colombo, August 22 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 385,000 mark as another 3,844 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (21).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 385,696 with 55,123 active cases registered across the island and as many as 323,390 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 198 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Friday (20).
This is the highest number of COVID-19 deaths reported in a single day since the pandemic began.
Reportedly, none among the victims were aged below 30 years while 44 of them were aged between 30-59 years and 154 others were aged 60 and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 7,183 as of now.
