Karachi, November 19 (Express Tribune): A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Toronto to Lahore had to make an emergency landing at Manchester because passengers had choked the plane’s toilets with trash.
A statement released by the Pakistani national flag carrier on Saturday said the toilets on flight PK-798, flying from Toronto to Lahore, were choked after solids were thrown into one of them by passengers. PIA said all toilets had been consequently affected as they were connected.
PIA said the corporation’s chairman had reiterated the need for passengers to read the guidelines given in aircraft toilets.
Earlier in August, just days after the launch of PIA Premier, passengers had ‘damaged’ a London-bound flight. Upon arrival in London on Wednesday, one of the recently inducted A-330s looked anything but a new plane given the rubbish strewn all over the aircraft and the missing fixtures.
