Colombo, April 7: Michel Chossudovsky, Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa and Founder- Director of the Center for Research on Globalization, says that there are reasons to believe that the coronavirus was isolated first in the US and that the US introduced it in China as part of its overall plan to destroy the Chinese economy.
China is playing on this thesis apart from reiterating its charge that a US military team which had visited Wuhan in October 2019 for the World Military Games, had planted it at the wildlife market there.
On the other hand, the US Establishment and the media are blaming China for the pandemic as part of its bid to replace the US as a super power. An US citizen has even filed a case in a US court demanding US$ 20 trillion as damages from China.
In an interview to “Guns and Butter” (https://www.globalresearch.ca/covid-19-coronavirus-crisis/5706741) Chossudovsky, known as “Canada’s Chomsky” says that the sequence of events showed that the campaign to inflict damage on China began around October 2019 and that the plan involved the US government, the Public Health Department of Johns Hopkins University, the Bill Gates Foundation and Big Pharma companies.
What the Ottawa University Emeritus Professor is saying is that the sequence of events suggests that the virus was the brainchild of the US Establishment and Big Pharma with the WHO in tow.
Hatched In Davos
The plot to create world-wide panic about COVID-19 was hatched at the Davos Word Economic Forum in January 2020 . WHO was subsequently roped in to declare COVID-19 as an international health emergency on January 30, even though, at that time, there were only 150 cases outside China, which, according to Chossudovsky, could not be described as an “international emergency”.
According to Chossudovsky, the Western media was roped in to create the necessary panic so that China is isolated and destroyed and the Big Pharma companies make a killing by selling a new-found vaccine. He also says that the economic devastation caused to the US by the virus will enable big companies to take over the smaller and weaker businesses.
On January 31, the Trump administration called for a ban on air travel to China. On the 31st of January, Trump launched a hate campaign against China, when there was no health issue of concern.
Chossudovsky insists that this is not biological warfare against China but an economic one. “It is the use of the coronavirus as a pretext to implement drastic changes which affect economic activity, trade, transportation, which ultimately has an impact on national economies,” he asserts.
When the WHO Emergency Committee first met on the January 22, it was divided. However, when it met again on January 30, shortly after the Davos World Economic Forum, which took place from the 21st to the 24th of January, the committee quickly took the decision to declare an international emergency, even though there were only 150 cases outside China, he points out.
According to Chossudovsky, at the Davos meeting there were important discussions between different partners including the World Economic Forum, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and various entities linked to Big Pharma companies. Those consultations were essentially instrumental to the decision taken on January 30 by WHO.
The Gates Foundation, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations for the Development of Vaccines, Big Pharma companies like GlaxoSmithKline, were part of the Davos group. There were also discussions with the IMF and the World Bank, the State Department and US Intelligence, Chossudovsky alleges.
The WHO Director-General, who had been in Davos just a few days earlier, determined that the so-called outbreak constituted a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern.”
“On February 28th Dr. Tedros of WHO announces that a massive WHO vaccination campaign has been approved by the WHO. And who is behind that campaign? GlaxoSmithKline in partnership with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, which is a Gates/World Economic Forum partnership,” Chossudovsky points out.
Economic Simulation Event 201
On October 18, 2019, there was a “simulation” of a coronavirus pandemic in Baltimore US. Called “Event 201”, the simulation involved private financial institutions, corporate execs, foundations, Big Pharma, and CIA. But there were no health officials on behalf of national governments or the WHO, Chossudovsky says.
“It was essentially a simulation including the collapse of stock markets, the extension of the virus to something like 65 million people and so on and so forth. So the people who were simulating actually went live on January 30th, 2020, which was the day when that global health emergency was launched.”
Among those involved were the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Bloomberg School of Public Health.” Chossudovsky draws attention to the fact that the simulation was not taken by an independent body of scientists and researchers and economists but by Big Money.
“The same actors involved in the simulation who are now involved in saving the world from the coronavirus,” Chossudovsky remarks.
“This is not biological warfare, because the coronavirus is not a dangerous virus. It has certain similarities with other viruses. It triggers pneumonia, then there’s a recovery process, “ the economist says, and adds that this will not be acknowledged because international panic will subside.
“What we are witnessing now is a transfer of money wealth, a concentration of money wealth, which I think is unprecedented. It’s perhaps one of the largest transfers of money wealth in modern history. In other words, it’s characterized by bankruptcies of small and medium-sized firms, mounting debt, mounting personal debts, corporate debts, the takeover of competing companies. And in a sense, it’s characterized by conflict within the financial establishment,” Chossudovsky asserts.
“Those in authority say: We must protect our population so let’s close down the economy. You don’t protect your population by closing down an economy. You can take certain public health actions which are selective and well thought out, but that’s not what’s happening,” he pointed out.
Chossudovsky Trashed
But the preponderance of scientific evidence suggests the virus originated in Hubei province, said Raina MacIntyre, a doctor and epidemiologist who leads the biosecurity research program at Australia’s University of New South Wales told Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail.
Common sense would suggest the same, MacIntyre said. She also dismissed theories that the virus was deliberately released.
“Look at motive,” she said. “When you look at the impact this has had on the United States and China – it’s been catastrophic for both. There’s no gain to be made by either China or the U.S.”
