Colombo, April 27 (NewsWire) – All schools in the island will be closed until Friday, 30th April, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera announced today.
Earlier today, it was announced that schools in the Kegalle, Anuradhapura, Ampara, and Trincomalee Districts will also be closed till Friday.
The Governor of the North Central Province said 13 schools in the Anuradhapura District will remain closed until 30th April.
The Sabaragamuwa Province Governor said all schools in the Kegalle District, under the purview of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, will also be closed until Friday.
The Governor of the Eastern Province also announced that all schools in the Kanthale Education Zone in the Trincomalee District will also be closed.
The Governor further said that all schools in the Maha-Oya and Ampara Education Zones in the Ampara District will also be closed until Friday.
All schools have been closed due to a significant spread of the coronavirus in the country at present.
