Colombo, March 30 (newsin.asia) – Joining in Sri Lanka’s battle against COVID-19 and aware of the negative health and economic impact it will have, Akbar Brothers pledges LKR 100M through a number of relief measures to ensure that their employees and local community are sustained and supported during this difficult time.
An emergency response entailing food supplies, medical equipment and other replenishments have been organised for all the employees. Relief packages including dry rations have been distributed among the workers and the local community including temples, churches, mosques and those in need around the vicinity. In addition to an ample amount of relief packages, Akbar Brothers have also pledged Rs 50 million to COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund initiated by the Honourable President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa. In their continued efforts to serve the people of Sri Lanka, the company affirms their involvement in the construction of the New Health Center in Chilaw.
