Colombo, Dec 12 (newsin.asia) – A fire broke out at a hotel in the Colombo Fort area earlier today, prompting an immediate response from the fire brigade. Ten firefighting vehicles have been dispatched to the scene to control the blaze, according to officials.
An official from the Colombo Fire Brigade told Daily Mirror that twelve fire trucks and 41 officers were dispatched to the scene to bring the fire under control.
According to the official, several casualties have been reported; however, the exact number is yet to be confirmed.
Among the casualties are foreigners and police personnel. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
