New Delhi, March 17 (newsin.asia): The Sri Lankan Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa who is on a two-day official visit to New Delhi held bilateral talks with the External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar. The talks were held at the Hyderabad House, the official State Guest House of the Government of India.
The two Ministers held talks on a range of issues pertaining to the bilateral relationship, particularly on those that are related to the economic partnership between the two countries. Finance Minister Rajapaksa thanked the External Affairs Minister Jaishankar for the assistance extended by India to Sri Lanka. Minister Jaishankar assured Minister Rajapaksa that India would continue to respond to the requirements of the people of Sri Lanka.
The talks were followed by a working dinner hosted by the External Affairs Minister of India for the visiting Sri Lankan delegation.
Finance Minister Rajapaksa was accompanied to the meeting by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance S.R. Attygalle and Sri Lanka’s Deputy High Commissioner to India Niluka Kadurugamuwa.
Earlier in the day, India’s Foreign Secretary Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla and the Deputy National Security Advisor of India Shri Vikram Misri called on Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
