Colombo, August 30 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 426,000 mark as another 4,612 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (29).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 426,169 with 59,796 active cases registered across the island and as many as 357,598 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 192 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Saturday (28).
Reportedly, 156 deaths were among the elderly people who were aged above 60 years. In addition, 36 individuals aged between 30-59 years have also succumbed to the virus infection.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 8,775 as of now.
