Colombo, August 20 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus positive patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 373,000 mark as another 3,806 new Covid-19 cases had been detected across the country yesterday (19).
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases stands at 373,165 with 47,847 active cases registered across the island and as many as 318,714 recoveries according to the Government Information Department.

Sri Lanka also registered 186 more Covid-19 related deaths yesterday, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed. The victims have succumbed to the virus infection on Wednesday (18).
This is the highest number of COVID-19 deaths reported in a single day.
Reportedly, 4 of the victims were below the age of 30 while another 35 were between the ages of 30 and 59. The remaining 147 are aged 60 years and above.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 6,790 as of now.
