Colombo, April 8 (newsin.asia) – The Department of Meteorology said that the sun is expected to be directly over Sri Lanka from April 5 to April 14, as a result of its apparent northward relative motion.
The nearest areas where the sun was overhead yesterday were Colombo, Malwana, Kosgama, Sitawaka, Maldeniya, Rozella, Talawakele, Sita-eliya, Ettampitiya, Passara, Warralanda and Paladi Kalapuwa around 12:13 noon.
The Department further said the sun will be directly above the Bolawatta, Wedeniya, Wattarama, Ambagamuwa, Digana, Mahawala, Galgamuwa, Ampara and Oluvil areas today (08).
Further, the Meteorology Department said showers would occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces including Galle and Matara districts towards the evening or night.
The Public have been warned to take necessary precautions in view of extreme heat during this period.
