Colombo, April 25 (newsin.asia) – All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) released a statement a short while ago saying that they will not accept the bodies of the individuals who carried out the Easter Day attacks.
ACJU strongly mentioned, “Those who committed this barbaric attack on innocent civilians do not belong to us. Hence we categorically state that we will not accept their bodies. They have not done any good on behalf of us.”
ACJU condemned the cowardly attacks on three Catholic churches during the Easter Sunday mass service in Kochchikade, Katuwapitiya in Katana and in Batticaloa, and three hotels in the Colombo City.
ACJU also stated, “considering the situation of emergency and the security of the country, we request all our sisters to cooperate and identify themselves and remove their face veil whenever it is necessary. Do not create any situation where others will feel threatened. We request them to carry their identification and corporate with the security officials.”
Furthermore, the ACJU requests all the Christian and Catholic communities to carry out their religious activities on Sunday at the churches as usual and that they, the ACJU, would provide the necessary security they need to carry out their worshipping. If the Christian and Catholic communities do not feel safe to visit churches, the ACJU will support them to carry out the religious activity at safer places.
