Colombo, May 7 (NIA) – Strengthening their position as one of Sri Lanka’s top talent management entities, the dynamic human resources team of the resorts sector at Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts recently bagged a Gold award at the Sri Lanka Human Capital Management Awards 2016 (HCM Awards 2016).
The team won Gold for overall human resource practices, whilst also bagging the category award for ‘Talent Acquisition and On-Boarding’ and was the only hospitality brand to receive high recognition at this year’s event, alongside three other gold award winners from leading corporates.
Themed ‘Shift 2020’ – this year’s awards ceremony was conducted by the Association of Human Resource Professionals (HRP) in partnership with the National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC).
Conducted with the technical support of the Society Human Resources Management India (SHRM), this award sets the benchmark for industry best practices in the field of HR. The event took place at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo and was attended by the senior management of the country’s most respected conglomerates, business leaders and the best HR teams in the country.
The Sri Lanka Human Capital Management Awards aim to provide a platform for public and private sector companies in Sri Lanka to evaluate the effectiveness of their HR management practices against internationally accepted guidelines.
This year’s theme, ‘Shift 2020’, brought to light HRP’s vision to move multiple industries towards more futuristic HR practices. The aim of this year’s programme was also to enhance and recognize the level of HR excellence in Sri Lankan companies, in an effort to create a future ready workforce.

This year’s awards programme recognized HR teams that had excelled in the categories of HR Contributions Towards Business Transformation, Talent Management, Performance Management, Learning & Development and Employee Engagement. Other award categories included Rewards and Recognition, Human Resource Operations, Diversity and Inclusion and Community Impact.
