Colombo, June 6 (NIA) – Sri Lanka’s newly appointed Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake will leave for India on Tuesday evening to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his office said in a statement.
This is the first official overseas visit by Karunanayake after being appointed Foreign Minister by President Maithripala Sirisena last month.
Karunanayake was the Minister of Finance before his re-appointment as the Foreign Minister.
During his visit, he is expected to discuss several areas of mutual interest with the Indian Premier. He will also meet other Indian officials.
