Colombo, Nov 24 (NIA) – Sri Lanka’s Luxury Ayurveda ‘Spa Ceylon’, on Thursday said it had opened a grand 3000 square foot signature store in Japan and was planning to enter Italy, Austria and China by next year.
With the opening of a store in Japan, Spa Ceylon is now the world’s largest Luxury Ayurveda chain with 45 locations across 12 countries, the company said in a statement.
“We see a lot of potential for the Spa Ceylon brand in Japan,” Director and Co-founder of Spa Ceylon, Shalin Balasuriya said.
“Even through this is a mature market with many international players and strong domestic brands as well, we feel that the proven, high performance formulae with natural ingredients, luxury presentation of Ayurveda and branding elements from Ceylon will set us apart and will be key to the success of the brand in Japan.”
This is Spa Ceylon’s second location in Japan following the opening of their boutique in Nihonbashi, Tokyo in October. Further expansion in Japan is planned with the addition of up to 12 new outlets within the next 12 months.
Internationally, Spa Ceylon recently launched two Duty Free stores in Kuala Lumpur International Airport in October.
Further new openings are scheduled for December 2016 with Airport Duty Free locations in Mumbai, India Maldives, Pakistan and Australia.
“We will reach our target of 50 stores internationally by the end of 2016, and have plans to open 30 new locations in 2017, en-route to the big milestone of 100 stores across 3 continents by early 2018,” said Co-founder and Director Shiwantha Dias.
“2017 will see Spa Ceylon enter several new key markets. The second quarter will commence our European roll-out with store openings in Italy and Austria featuring close to 300 of our EU compliant formulations. Mainland China is another high potential market with boutique operations planned to commence in the 3rd quarter.”
Spa Ceylon produces over 400 all-natural Ayurveda inspired personal care, wellness and home aroma products.
Their complete range comprises prestige skin, body, bath, scalp and hair care preparations, oils, balms and potions, home aroma blends, candles, diffusers, incense, herbal infusions and teas, handmade stoneware and bath accessories.
