Colombo, May 4 (newsin.asia) – The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 113,000 mark yesterday (3) as another 1913 new cases had been detected within the day.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka stands at 113, 676.
Breakdown of cases detected over the last 5 days:
- May 3- 1913
- May 2- 1843
- May 1- 1716
- April 30- 1662
- April 29- 1531
All new cases reported today are associated with the ‘New Year’ Covid-19 cluster.
13 COVID-19 related deaths were reported yesterday (4) according to the The Director General of Health Services which brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths recorded in the country to 709.
14,771 patients infected with the virus are currently under medical care at hospitals and treatments centers across the country.
Meanwhile, State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana said that the first batch of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine was expected to arrive today in Sri Lanka.
