Colombo, June 24 (newsin.asia) – Sri Lankan Police, on Saturday said they were probing the murder of 26 year old Tharindi Aloka, who was found hacked to death in her home in Kottawa, in capital Colombo, on Thursday.
Tharindi is the eldest daughter of a billionaire businessman. Her body was discovered in her room, lying in a pool of blood, by her sister after she returned home from school. The victim was alone at home at the time of the murder.
The local Daily Mirror, quoting police said a young businessman from the Southern Province who often visited the victims’s house is suspected to be behind the killing. The businessman had wanted a relationship with the victim but she had refused.
Tharindi’s parents said their daughter intended to travel overseas after completing a beautician course.
Investigations are ongoing to nab those involved.
