New Delhi, August 6 (The Quint): The Indian Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday opposed the Centre’s resolution to revoke Article 370 by tweeting that “a nation is made by people and not plots of land.”
In yet another tweet, he said that jailing mainstream Kashmir leaders is “unconstitutional and undemocratic” and that they must be released immediately.
Pakistan PM Imran Khan has said that they will approach UN over the issue of Jammu & Kashmir. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India might be called back.
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee said that her party cannot support the Bill and that the Centre should have spoken to all the stakeholders.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while moving the resolution to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, in Lok Sabha, said that PoK was a part of Kashmir and that his government will “give our lives” for it.
