Colombo, November 1 (newsin.asia): The process of inducting defectors from ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s United National Front into the Sirisena-Rajapaksa cabinet has paused after five MPs defected. On Thursday the process of inducting MPs from President Maithripala Sirisena’s Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was resumed.
Nine Members of the SLFP took portfolios in the new government headed by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
They are : Mohan Lal Grero (State Minister of Education and Higher Education); M. L. A. M. Hizbullah (State Minister of Highways and Road Development); Sriyani Wijewickrama (State Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports). Angajan Ramanathan (Deputy Minister of Agriculture); Manusha Nanayakkara (Deputy Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment).
Indika Bandaranayake (Deputy Minister of Housing and Urban Development); Sarathie Dushmantha (Deputy Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms); Nishantha Muthuhettigamage (Deputy Minister of Ports and Shipping) and K. Kader Masthan (Deputy Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, and Northern Development.)
