Male, Feb 28 (newsin.asia) – The Maldives has expressed deep concern over the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan, following the terrorist attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama, India on Feb 14, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement here Thursday.
The Foreign Ministry said the Maldives resolutely and unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, and underlined the urgency of States taking meaningful action against terrorist groups operating on their soil.
“The Maldives is fully committed to the fight against terrorism and will continue to work closely with the international community, especially with its South Asian neighbors, in eliminating this global menace,” the Foreign Ministry said.
“The Maldives urges both countries to exercise utmost restraint, and to preserve the stability, peace and security in the region. It is important to seek a speedy resolution to the current crisis through diplomacy and dialogue,” the Ministry added.
