Colombo, Jan 8 (newsin.asia) – India’s budget airline, Indigo Airlines, will begin direct flights to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo from Jan 20, the Airline said in a statement here Monday.
Indigo is India’s largest and fastest growing low-cost carrier. Colombo will become Indigo’s eighth international and forty ninth overall destination.
The airline will operate daily direct flights from India’s southern cities of Chennai and Bengaluru.
“It gives us immense pleasure to add Colombo to our growing network, which will not only help us cater to the growing tourist potential of the city, but also provide affordable travel options to the Indian workforce who can now look forward to visiting the city more frequently,” Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo
said.
