Sept 9 (NIA) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Sri Lanka on an official visit next year, the government information department announced on Friday.
Modi’s visit was discussed when an Indian delegation including the Indian Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, V.K. Singha met with Sri Lankan Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne alongside the 69th Session of the WHO-SEARO in Colombo.
The government information department further said that the Indian Prime Minister will open a base hospital in Hatton, in Central Sri Lanka, which is developed with the assistance of the Indian government.
The Indian Prime Minister is also expected to join a Yoga program in Colombo during his visit.
This will be the second visit by Modi to Sri Lanka after he visited in March 2015. The visit was the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Sri Lanka in 28 years.
