Colombo, March 14 (newsin.asia): At a special event held on March 13, the High Commission of India felicitated officials of the Sri Lankan Prime Minister’s Security Division (PMSD) who underwent training by Close Protection Force of the elite National Security Guard (NSG) in Ind.ia from 17 to 29 February 2020. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest at the event
21 PMSD officials were given extensive and exhaustive training in combat fitness and close protection/proximate security during the two weeks long course, a High Commission press release said.
Addressing the gathering, Acting High Commissioner Vinod K. Jacob highlighted the importance attached to cooperation in the security sphere between India and Sri Lanka, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)’.
The Acting High Commissioner also underlined various capacity building programs offered by India for the Sri Lankan police and legal officers in diverse topics like de-radicalization, crime investigation, forensics, financial crimes, cyber – crime investigations, traffic management and industrial security.
