Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) – A special meeting will be held today between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and members of the COVID-19 committee to assess the ongoing travel restrictions and whether the restriction will be relaxed on May 31, a senior official told Daily Mirror.

It is reported that the government has paid attention not to relax the travel restrictions scheduled for May 31 and June 4 due to the people violating the health guidelines during the relaxation of the travel restrictions on May 25.
However, the official said that no decision was taken as of yet and the prevailing situation will be discussed today with the President.
The Government decided to relax travel restrictions on May 25, 31 and June 4 to allow people to pick up essential items during the travel period extended up to June 07.
