Colombo, February 19 (newsin.asia): A Chinese lady coronavirus patient, who had been receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Angoda near here, was discharged on Wednesday after being completely cured.
The 43-year-old Chinese national, who had arrived in Sri Lanka as a tourist from the badly affected Hubei province, was tested positive for the new coronavirus on January 26, making her the first case of positive coronavirus reported in Sri Lanka.
She was admitted to the IDH and was cured of the infection. After spending the required quarantine period, she was discharged. On Wednesday, she was given a warm sendoff by the Sri Lankan Minister of Health, Pavithra Wannirachchi, the Director General Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe other doctors and nurses at the IDH. The Minister hugged her affectionately.
She was to leave for China at the earliest. The cured patient’s name was not disclosed.
