Colombo, November 16 (newsin.asia): Two buses carrying Muslim displaced persons from Puttalam to Mannar to enable them to vote in the Sri Lankan Presidential election on Saturday were stoned and then fired at by an unknown gang.
No injuries were reported and the passengers were safely escorted to Mannar to enable them to exercise their franchise, police said.
The incident occurred in Anuradhapura district en route to Mannar.

Two voters were in two buses. The miscreants first stoned a bus and then fired at the second one from the rear. However, only the windscreens were damaged and no passenger was injured, the police added.
